◄ She is just 11. But Lahore’s Aqeedat Naveed understands how important peace between bitter neighbours Pakistan and India is. Naveed has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing him to work towards establishing peace in the region after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s super show in the just concluded Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
◄ Aqeedat, in her letter, said that now that the BJP has won elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should work to win hearts of more Pakistanis and Indians alike.
◄ “Once my father told me that winning hearts is a marvellous job. Perhaps you have won the hearts of Indian people, therefore you won the election in UP. But I must tell you if you want to win more Indian and Pakistani hearts, you should take steps towards friendship and peace. Both countries need good relation,” Aqeedat wrote in the two page letter.
◄ “Let’s make a peace bridge between India and Pakistan. Let’s decide that we will not buy bullets, will buy books. We will not buy the guns, will buy the medicine for the poor people,” her letter said.
◄ The fifth grader had earlier written a letter to Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj as well on the matter of peace and has also received several responses from officials in New Delhi, Dunya News reported.
